Welcome to Song of Atlanta
Take a listen (and a look) and you’ll know why Song of Atlanta (SOA) is a special group. From the ringing chords to the energetic dance moves, anyone who visits an SOA rehearsal or enjoys a performance is taken on a harmonious ride filled with emotion and a flair for fun.
Providing singers the opportunity to develop and broaden their artistic and vocal skills through weekly rehearsals, education, and a shared passion for performing.
Song of Atlanta is a women’s a cappella chorus based in the Greater Atlanta area. Our chorus is comprised of women, ages 14-80+, who share a passion for joining voices to create beautiful harmonies. One of our primary goals is to provide singers the opportunity to develop and broaden their artistic and vocal skills through weekly rehearsals, education, and a shared passion for performing. Our weekly rehearsals allow us to gather with a unified goal of creating harmonious music and fostering life-long relationships.
Our accomplished Master Director, Becki Hine, has been serving in her current role for over 25 years. Within our membership, we have students, lawyers, therapists, nurses, teachers, and professionals in numerous other industries as well as retirees and full-time moms.
Song of Atlanta has an ongoing commitment to give back to the community through performances and volunteering. These events include but are not limited to: The Annual Muscular Dystrophy Walk, singing the National Anthem for sporting events, working with the Division of Aging Services to provide gifts for those in need, and hosting all-day music educational events for students in middle school and high school. Song of Atlanta is always eager to share our music and talent with others

At the heart of Song of Atlanta are our members who are truly family. Rehearsing weekly, we come together to improve our art form, practice our choreography, and most of all, enjoy our time together. After rehearsal, you’ll find members catching up, enjoying a bite to eat, or being a sounding board for each other. We are family.

Each member of Song of Atlanta is dedicated to performance excellence and our goal to always be better. Whether it’s drilling a section of music, breaking off into sectionals or rehearsing on our own - we strive to be our best selves.

Song of Atlanta is made up of 80+ members from different backgrounds, cultures, ages and careers, but what connects us is our shared love of music and harmony. Everyone has a place on our risers.
we’re about Competition
Every other year, Song of Atlanta participates in Regional competition - a special time for quartets and choruses from Region 14 to come together to perform, compete, learn & receive constructive feedback from a panel of qualified judges. The winners of Regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories are invited to travel to International competition, which is held the following Fall in a selected city. Song of Atlanta is proud to be 18-time Regional champions and has placed seven times in the top ten at International competitions. At the 2022 International Competition in Phoenix, we finished in third place!
we’re about Education
In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of a cappella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals and a very important part of the chorus experience. We are regularly visited by masters in the art of barbershop singing who teach us many fabulous tricks of the trade.
